About the Product
Tripolymer® Foam Insulation is a hybrid, belonging to one of the oldest groups of synthetically produced thermosetting compounds. Phenolics, as they are referred to, were first synthesized in 1907, in the form of Bakelite. Today, Phenolics are well known for their durability, structural integrity, and extraordinary fire resistance. Phenolic materials are used extensively in electronics, automobiles, machine parts, fire-proof coatings, waterproof adhesives, tools, jewelry and thousands of other commercial and household items. When made into Foam Insulation, Phenolics are one of the safest and most efficient thermal and acoustical insulation products available.
Since then, Tripolymer® has been used by:
- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
- The United States Military (Army, Navy, Air Force)
- Hospitals & Nursing Homes, Schools & Day Care Centers
- Federal, State, and Local Government Buildings
- Boeing Aircraft
- The World Trade Center: 101 Park Avenue, 70 Pine Street & Helmsley Palace in NY City
- Wal-Marts, Lowe's, Sears, Home Depots, 7 Eleven's across the country
- Smithsonian Institute, the U.S. Patent Office Washington, D.C. and hundreds of thousands of residential homes nationwide
Every so often a customer will ask, "Well how come I've never heard about Tripolymer® Insulation?" The fact is you probably have, but let's face it; Foam Insulation isn't something the average person takes a great interest in until it's really needed. For example, Tripolymer® has been advertised extensively over the past 33 years on TV, and in magazines, such as Popular Mechanics, Homes @ Gardens, and many construction magazines and trade journals. It has also been demonstrated and used on the series, "This Old House" and various other TV commercials and advertisements.
A Few Important Facts
Tripolymer® has the highest R-value of any retrofit insulation available today. Being 5.1 R per inch @ 70°F, a full 36% greater than fiberglass and 25% above the best blown cellulose! This is all the more reason to use Tripolymer® in your homes' exterior walls. Most outside walls in residential homes are normally between 3.5" and 4" in thickness. Why use a low R-value insulation in this limited small space, and reduce your homes comfort level and energy savings by 25% to 36%? Tripolymer® is also excellent in sound proofing the interior walls of your home!
Why don't other insulation companies offer Tripolymer® Insulation? Many other companies do! The manufacturer of Tripolymer® has strict guidelines for those companies who represent their products. Unlike Fiberglass and Cellulose insulation and related equipment "that can be rented and installed by almost anyone," Tripolymer® is only installed by factory trained and certified companies.
Tripolymer® is not a Polyurethane or Urea Formaldehyde Insulation. It is environmentally safe, non-toxic, water repellent, highly fire-resistant, non-corrosive and also, naturally insect and rodent resistant. |
